Direct Deposit – Union Standard encourages direct, electronic deposit of pay to one or more checking or savings accounts in one or more banks each payday.
Pay Periods – Paydays are the 15th and the last day of each month. Should the pay date fall on a weekend or bank holiday, payment will be the last week day before the 15th or end of month.
Holidays – In addition, full-time employees also receive paid time off for scheduled holidays. A company holiday schedule is published each year in December for the following year.
Working Hours – Normal office hours are:
- 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
- A full workweek consists of 40 hours, with 45 minute lunch breaks.
- Flexible schedules are available, but the core hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. must be maintained
Employee Stock Purchase Plan – Employees may purchase W. R. Berkley stock through payroll deductions, with no commissions paid. Employees commit a dollar amount per paycheck to purchase fractional shares. Discounted transaction fees do apply on sales through this Merrill Lynch-supported program. Participants receive quarterly statements from Merrill Lynch.
PC Loan Program – After one year of employment, employees are eligible to obtain an interest-free loan to purchase up to $ 2,500 of home computer equipment. Loans are repaid through payroll deduction.
Education – The Company aggressively supports professional insurance education by encouraging our employees to take IIA or CPCU courses. We pay for tuition, books, and examinations. As an additional incentive, bonuses are paid to employees who pass exams, complete programs, and attain designations. The Company also has a tuition reimbursement program.
